Begin learning French through songs, games, and simple stories! We'll use lots of hands-on activities and keep our bodies moving as we become familiar with French. Your child will go home each week with suggested resources to keep the learning going (no parental French experience required).

This class uses the landmark French in Action instructional video series and accompanying textbook and workbook, as well as occasional supplemental resources, to teach French through a unique immersive and cinematic approach. French in Action is hands down the most effective French resource I have found, and I've used many over my years of teaching!
To get the maximum benefit from the class, students should be prepared to spend 30-60 minutes per day on assigned homework three days per week (non-class days).
A $50 refundable deposit is requested for the textbook; this fee will be refunded upon return of the book in decent condition at the end of the course.
French 2 will be offered for students who wish to continue the program in the next school year.

Students must sign up for both weekly classes because the content is cumulative.

FAQs
What if my student misses a class?
There are no refunds for missed classes, but students and parents will receive instructions for how to cover missed material at home as much as possible. Students have the option to attend an alternate class if one is available at an appropriate level.
Can I bring my younger child?
It is distracting for the students to have younger siblings playing or making noise in the background. Parents are welcome to quietly obsserve a class or two, but in general we ask that parents and/or siblings not enrolled in a class be out of the classroom. There will be a small side room where parents can occupy younger siblings or where school-aged children can do schoolwork, or parents can supervise children outside. Another option is to visit the local library (about a mile away) or local playground during class time.
Do you offer classes for adults?
Not currently, but if I gathered enough interest, I would schedule one! Please reach out to discuss.
